Yet Another Audio Metadata Tool
What is it?
YAAMT is a swiss army knife for tags and metadata on your audio files. It allows you to edit tags, detect BPM, key, fingerprints, and ReplayGain data, and rename files in bulk! DJs can use it to organize new music in their intake workflow, and audio nerds can use it to help organize and clean up their music libraries.
This program includes a number of different algorithms for BPM and musical key analysis, including MusicalKeyCNN, which scores competitively with paid, proprietary software like Mixed in Key and better than the built-in key detectors in Serato and Rekordbox! BPM detection also supports several different algorithms, including a custom port of the BPM algorithm from RapidEvolution3, as well as the BPM detectors from the Librosa and Aubio libraries.
Please Note:
This software is in ALPHA. While I test it with my own music collection, and have successfully played (and continue to play) gigs using files I've processed with YAAMT, it is still a work in progress. Always make backups of your music collection before running it through YAAMT. In particular, I have not done extensive testing on how this program interacts with metadata from DJ software such as Serato or Rekordbox; so it is best to use this program as part of your intake workflow for new music. While the underlying metadata library (mutagen) should preserve existing tags from other software, I have not yet tested this extensively. So once again: MAKE BACKUPS BEFORE RUNNING FILES THROUGH YAAMT!
